1. Shoot or Pass? Deer Retention Campaign  

This email template is one of our favorites because it is a fun way to provide customers with helpful information or lead them to the state licensing page. This strategy uses “gamification,” when using gamification, we create opportunities for our hunters to not only receive vital information but, in some cases, a sense of competition and an opportunity to be heard.  

When a hunter chooses an action by clicking “shoot” or “pass,” we create opportunities for that hunter to move forward with purchasing a license or permit. But we also see what motivates our hunters, as well as create a relationship with that hunter − reminding them to not only open our emails in the future but look forward to when they arrive.

2. Can you help us? Pain Point Survey  

This email template is helpful for a wide variety of campaigns and aims to find out why a customer has not purchased a permit or taken the next step in their customer journey. Just like the gamification strategy, this pain point survey allows customers to be heard and provides valuable feedback to the state agency on what might be preventing people from hunting or fishing.  

The real beauty of this pain point survey is that you can use the feedback from the customer to drive them to a landing page that might be able to help them with their pain point, or you can reference that pain point in later touchpoints. This helps to serve personalized solutions to your customers that will help them get over any obstacle they may be facing.

3. We are curious – Hunter Ed Motivation  

This email template is focused on learning the motivations of a new hunter after taking Hunter Education. You will then know what motivated them to take the class so you can better serve them helpful information in later touchpoints or lead them to a page with more resources.  

This is a low-barrier introduction that helps boost engagement through clickable and engaging content. This will allow you to identify which persona the audience member belongs to and what motivated them to take Hunter Ed in the first place. Upon choosing the motivation, the hunter can be redirected to a website that includes links to the licensing page or other resources that help them get out in the field.
